Basilio
García
was born in the famous Echegaray street in Madrid. He comes
form a family of writers and artists. At the age of 15 he
made his debut as a guitarist with his own group. He continued
to work in various tablaos in Madrid, taking on accompaniment
to flamenco dance thanks to his uncle José
Heredia. He is the grandson of the maestro
Cabello, author of such famous songs as Vino Amargo
Doce Cascabeles and innumerable theatre works.
He
was accompanist in the classes of María Magdalena,
Tomás de Madrid, La Tati, La China, El maestro Ciro,
Cristobal Reyes among others, at the famous dance school Amor
de Dios.
For
four years he was a member of the flamenco group in the tablao
Zambra, accompanying a large
number of artists.
He
wrote the music for the theatre work Lorca, directed by Cristina
Rota, in which many outstanding actors participated, such
as Ana Belén, Imanol Arias, Juan Echanove, Juan Diego
Boto, Ana Torren, Luis Pascual ....
He
has collaborated with many artists, Lola Mayo and José
Carmona among them, in their numerous appearances at the famous
Casa Patas.
He
formed part of the Lucía Real and Camborio company,
performing in the opera Carmen under the direction of Franco
Zefirelli during three consecutive seasons and undertaking
a world tour during three years.
He
has collaborated in numerous recordings accompanying artists
such as El Príncipe Gitano.
He
is one of the musicians and composers of the works for Rafael
Amargo, achieving a prize for best music.
He
is both musician and composer for the work La
Casa de Bernarda Alba, directed and interpreted by
la Tati.
He
is also composer for other flamenco companies and works, such
as Campanas Flamencas directed by Paco Sánchez, Mi
Camino by Manolete, Flamenco Soy by El Güito and the
shows by Juan Andrés Maya.

he has worked in the 2002- 2003 editions of Flamenco USA
