Jorge Berges
Flamenco Guitarist

Born in 1963, he starts playing the guitar at the age of nine years, self instructed in the first place, as is common in the world of flamenco.

At thirteen he starts performing in public in several places that were fashionable in those times, interpreting pieces by Paco de Lucía.

Several years later he composes and records the music with which the Spanish group of rhythmic gymnastics participates in European Championship in Athens.

He participated in “Memoria del Bolero” with Tranvía teatro, with La Rueda Teatro in “Garcia Lorca”, in the show “Ausencias Vivas” (also dealing with the genius poet), and the argentinian group “Me lo contó Buenos Aires”…

He has played in Madrid (Scala), Barcelone (Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Montjuit), Mourenx (in the south of France).

With his guitar, he accompanied Manuel Monje Cruz, the immortal Camarón’s brother, and has shared stage with Tomatito and Gerardo Núñez.

He as well has been collaborating with Gerardo Núñez in the international summer courses given every year in Sanlúcar; being Gerardo Núñez considered by many as the most virtuoso creator guitarist of our generation. He has transcribed several pieces by Gerardo Núñez in pentagram, forming a book that is distributed internationally and is of great help for every guitar student.

Not to forget about his flamenco tour throughout Belgium, where he works with the dance couple formed by Miguel Chaves and María Maestre, working with the pianist and composer Miguel Angel Remiro. With the latter he forms an interesting flamenco company that has realized several representations in Spain and Europe, and for which he composed the music.

With the group from Cadiz “Desde la cuna del arte”, he toured through the Arab Emirates. He also has realized the transcription of several of guitarist Serranito´s pieces for a book that belongs to a didactical video published by RGB Arte Visual S.L.

At the moment he is working on an officially requested (by “De Lucia Gestion S.I.”) book with transcription of all of guitar genius Paco de Lucia´s work, which will take our immortal guitarist’s work to aficionados all over the world.

His first recording “Mil Abrazos” contains seven compositions full of flamenco inspiration and emotion.
