"Cante" Step by Step

1.- Alegrias, Tangos de Extremadura, La Caña, Tonás

Flamenco Singing step by step
by "Merenguito"

The object of this anthology is to explain each type of flamenco song, as well as the different variations that come from the different geographical areas.

Each one of the styles will be carefully explained so that singers, guitarists, percussionists and even those that are just beginning, are able to understand their structures, words, intonation, rhythms, beats, forms, etc.

All the songs are explained in parts, “step by step”, and at the end of the explanation they will be interpreted in their complete form.

Furthermore, making the most of the facilities of the DVD, you also have the possibility of lowering the volume of Merenguito’s voice so that the singers can practise with the group. There is also the opportunity of reducing the sound of the guitar, so that the guitarists can practise the accompaniment of the song with Merenguito.

In other words, this is a perfect course both for singers and guitarists, where you will be able to study and practise singing as well as accompanying the song.

It also include a booklet with some historical information about all explained flamenco styles, technical featuires and lyrics.

In this first volume are explained the following styles belonging to the geographical area of Andalusia, except for the tangos of Extremadura which are closely linked to flamenco:

- Alegrías with their origin in Cádiz.

- La Caña of Jerez de la Frontera

- Tangos of Extremadura

-
Tonás belonging to Sevilla, Trianaido
