David
Moreira González,
is a Venezuelan musician with a broad musical education. From
1976 to 1997 he was a member of the Young Orchestras of Venezuela.
He made his debut at the age of 8 in Vivaldi’s concerto
in A major for two violins. Through auditions he was accepted
in the Orquesta Juvenil of Caracas and the Orquesta Sinfónica
“Simón Bolívar” respectively. From
1988 thru 1998 he was a member of the Camerata
Renacentista of Caracas, an ensemble
dedicated to the study and interpretation of Renaissance and
Baroque styles which made extensive tours of the U.S.A, South
America and Europe, gaining several prizes for their recordings.
He
participated as co-producer and instrumentalist in the Christmas
advertisement campaign for Radio Caracas TV which won the
Monseñor Pellin prize two years running.
In
the field of Salsa he performs as bass player and arranger
with La Banda Sigilosa, Team Malin, Cadáver Exquisito
and Canelita Medina.
In the flamenco field he has worked as violinist with all
of the leading flamenco schools in Caracas and is the music
director of the Arte y Compás school directed by Maestra
Azilde Henríquez. He has worked with the Spanish flamenco
dancers Carmela Greco, Domingo Ortega and Adrián Galia
whom he later worked with during the summer festival of Dance
in the Madrid Theatre in 1999.
After
several tours of the European continent he moved to Madrid
where he currently lives and began a new stage in his musical
career entirely dedicated to flamenco, working as violinist
with such artists as; Adrián Galia, Rafaela Carrasco,
Domingo Ortega, Cristóbal Reyes, Lola Greco, Carmela
Greco, La Truco, Amelia Vega, Lola Mayo, El
Téllez, Ángel Muñoz, Rafael Amargo,
Mar Vivo, Pilar Ogalla, Juan Ogalla, Antonio Granjero, Inma
Ortega, Antonio Canales and La Tati.
He has also worked with the following companies: Pura Pasión,
Adrián Galia, Juan Andrés
Maya,, Nuevo Ballet Español, Rafael Amargo and
Lola Greco
His
musical versatility has led to sharing the stage with such
artists as Juani de la Isla, Diego Magallanes, Tito Alcedo,
Juan Sainz, Alfonso Gamaza, Andreas Pritviz, Osvi Greco, Rodney
D’hasis, Irapoán Freire, Manolo Carrasco, Basilio
García, Tito Losada, Nicasio Moreno, Bernardo Parrilla,
Jesús Lavilla, José Luis Montón, Edith
Salazar, Jesús “Pinguino” González,
Pedro Cortés, Arturo Pavón, Pablo Suárez,
Lolo Pájaro, Pájaro Juárez, Montze Cortés,
José Arenas, Manuel de la Malena, Camarón de
Pitita, Piraña, Diego Álvarez ”El Negro”,
Rogerio de Souza, Surama Alburquerque, José Antonio
Ramos, Javier Ruibal, Rubem Dantas and Mark Led Ford, among
others.
As
composer he has written the music for the 2000 competition
in choreography for the dancer Eliecer Truco “La Truco.”
He composed the “non-flamenco” music for “
LA CASA DE BERNARDA ALBA”,
by Federico García Lorca for La Tati’s flamenco
theatre company which was nominated for the MAX award for
best music.
Within
pop-flamenco he has worked with El Barrio and Antonio Orozco.
His
work as a session musician has led to recordings with such
artists as
Gladis Mercado y Sus Mariachis, Mariachi “ Los Caporales”,
Carmen Jara, María José Santiago, Joaquín
El Canastero, Antonio Orozco, Villancicos Flamencos de una
peña Flamenca gaditana, Javier Ruibal, José
Antonio Ramos, Manolo Carrasco, music for the bailaor Rafael
Amargo’s Poeta en Nueva York and Juanton.
He
is currently a member of the following groups:
