MIGUEL TÉLLEZ
Flamenco Dancer "Bailaor"

He began his apprenticeship at the age of ten with classes in Spanish Classical Ballet and Flamenco with Fernando Belmonte and Paco del Río.

In 1984 at the age of eleven, he joined the “Ballet Infantil Albarizuela” of Jerez de la Frontera and in 1995 moved to Madrid where he joined the Ballet Antología of José Tamayo’s Lyric Company, under the direction of Mario de la Vega, María del Sol and Alberto Lorca.

In 1997 he joined the Clara Ramona company and Joaquin Grillo’s company, also joining the Master Bailaor Eduardo Serrano “El Güito’s” company.

Since 1998 he has been performing at Madrid’s Casa Patas tablao Flamenco with his own group.

In 1999 he joined Carmen Cortés’ company in the work “Salomé”, performing at the Teatro de Cuenca.


In 2000 he participated in various companies in:
- The XI Bienal of Flamenco in Seville as part of both
El Güito and Manolete companies
- Performing as a soloist with Manolete’s company at the Reina Victoria Theatre of Granada.
- Performances at the Villamarta Theatre in Jerez. Toured the U.S.A with the
María Benítez Company.
- Performed in La Coruña at the Mozart Festival in “Nights of Figaro” with choreography by
Cristina Hoyos; with Paco Peña’s company, the Losadas and choreography by Juan Andrés Maya
- Italian debut with the
Antonio Reyes Company.
- Participated with his group in the Second Display of Young Values of Flamenco Dance in Granada
- Performed in the work “Soleá un son Eterno” at the Albéniz Theatre with the Carmen Cortés company.


In 2001 and 2002 he performed at:
- The Flamenco Tablao Casa Patas during the months of February, March , April and May, with his group
- Queen Elizabeth Hall, London with the work “Arte Flamenco”
- With El Güito Company and later as soloist with “La Tati”
- As soloist with Manolete’s Company with the work “Mi Camino” at the Isabel La Católica Theatre in Granada

- “Arte Flamenco” at London’s Royal Festival Hall
- With El Güito’s company
- As soloist with “La Tati’s” company
- Flamenco Festivals in Extremadura; II Festival “Teatro Romano de Mérida” as soloist with Manolete’s company
- XXVII Flamenco Festival of Cáceres; Especial Festival Nacional del Cante de las Minas, “Auditorio San Francisco” with El Güito’s company
- Teatro Felipe II de El Escorial with
Carmen Cortés’ company;
- Toured the cities of Tokyo, Osaka and Kobe in Japan as part of El Güito’s company


In 2003 he performed before the king and queen of Spain at the flamenco tablao Casa Patas in Madrid with Mari Paz Lucena, in the work “Puro Gayardó”


He began teaching classes at schools within the Madrid Community, and for all levels at:
- the Centro de Danza Amor de Díos
- Flamenco Conservatory Foundation Casa Patas
- the Fernando Belmonte Dance Studio in Jerez de la Frontera and in Washington and New York, U.S.A.
