She perfected her studies at the dance school Amor de Dios under the tutelage of great maestros, among them: Azorín (Jota) Tomás de Madrid (flamenco), María Magdalena (tehnique), Graciela Craus (classic), La China (flamenco), Cristóbal Reyes (flamenco), and more than two years with La Tati (flamenco). During these years she managed to win the second prize in the first televised programme Gente Joven y Nueva Gente.
During her career she has shared the stage with José Mercé, Camarón de la Isla , Juan Villar, La Fernanda , Bernarda de Utrera, José Meneses, José de la Tomasa , Fosforito, Carmen de la Jara , Pansequito, and Carmen Linares, among others.
At the age of 19 she decided to move to Barbate in Cadiz and retire from the stage for a while (11 years) but finally she returned to Madrid where she began teaching flamenco at the Amor de Dios academy, alternating her classes with performances at Casa Patas, Corral de la Moreria and the Café Chinitas.
She participated in the film “Al Sur de Graná, as the teacher of Veronica Sánchez, correographer and star. She also worked on the Japanese movie filmed in Cádiz “The Shade of Summer”.
In June 2002 she performed for the festival “Flamenco pa'tos” at the Colegio de Medicos where she received very good reviews. In December of the same year she performed in Cape Town ( South Africa ) during the Spier Summer festival, as soloist and choreographer for the ‘Rosa Spanish Dance' company.
She has been a member of the Compañía La Tati playing the role of Martirio in the Lorca work “Bernarda Alba, and worked for two years as soloist for the Compañía “El Güito'. She has toured Holland with her own company, accompanied by Tony Maya and Manuel Liñan. With the Fundacion Conservatorio Casa Patas she has presented ‘Pureza” with her own company “ La Truco Flamenco Dance Company” in Indonesia .
She has participated in the Coreography Competitions held in the Teatro Albéniz in Madrid with “ Averno ” (2001), “Con Sabor a …” (2003) and “Remembranzas” (2004) for which she was awarded the second prize. In 2005 she received the Premio Signo in the Madrid locality of Parla, for her artistic career. In 2006 she premiered “Remembranzas” and participated in the SUMA FLAMENCA festival with the work “Tres Generaciones de Amor de Dios” alongside the maestros El Güito, and Merche Esmeralda. In March of 2007 she debuts at the Jerez Festival in the La Compañía auditorium with the work “A fuego Lento” with a lineup of artists including el Talegón de Córdoba. In July-August of this year she will travel to Washington , New York and Chicago to participate in the show “Entresuelo' as guest artist, she will also participate in the third consecutive Flamenco festival Los Almaizares.
La Truco has taught flamenco in various countries, including the UK, France, United States, Greece, Holland, South Africa etc…. and has worked as choreographer for different companies.
She is currently considered one of the finest dancers of the Taranto and Soleá styles.
