He
has always been associated with the guitar.
His interest on the Flamenco world placed him on important
stages since very early age, being a solo musician and a compositor.
He was required to play in prestigious theatre houses all
over the world, such as the New York Metropolitan, Ottawa
National Gallery, Teatro Real in Madrid, where he met some
of the most important names in the contemporary musical scene.
He
was awarded with the most prestigious Spanish Flamenco awards:

First National prize
of Flamenco Guitar in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz)
- First prize "Bordón Minero"
in Las Minas Festival (La Unión, Murcia)
He
was the first flamenco guitarist to perform in Island. Oscar
Herrero has proved to be an important part of the flamenco
frame.
Not
only as a musician but also as a teacher Herrero has acquired
his colleagues´ s respect. Although he is still young, he
has already created his own personal method within the educational
process of teaching how to play the flamenco guitar. Therefore,
his method was applied successfully in Festival Cannes Guitares
Passion, University of Panama, Fréderic Chopin Academy in
Varsovia, Cithara Aediculae Festival in Slovakia. He taught
with the following professors: Leo Brouwer, Jorge Cardoso,
Roland Dyens.
He is also a theorist and he wrote the following theory books:
"Tratado de la Guitarra Flamenca" (with Claude Worms´s collaboration),
"La Guitarra Flamenca Paso a Paso" (video series), "Libreto
de Partituras" from his latest CD "Hechizo."
He composed the sound track for the television show "Algo
más que Flamenco" and for the film "Papa Piquillo" by Alvaro
Sáenz de Heredia.
