Although
this young artist does not have antecedents in flamenco, which
often fans the flames of the art, his destiny lies alongside
the great representatives of “el cante” of the
21st Century.
His intuition and talent brought him to “el cante”
while still very young. Already at the age of nine he began
learning the art from the guitar master Paco de Antequera.
He continued his apprenticeship with the Cordóban guitarist
Manolo Molina, with whom he made his public debut.
Paco's “afición” and desire to learn led
him to study the great masters of “el cante”,
which gave him the grounding necessary to record his first
disc in 1985, accompanied by Paco de Antequera. The following
year he was awarded the prize of best newcomer to “el
cante” of Madrid.
Paco subsequently gathered more awards, culminating in the
prestigious 37th International Festival of Cante de Las Minas
in 1997 when he was declared Absolute Winner and awarded the
coveted LÁMPARA
MINERA.
