Pepa
Carrasco, “La Pepa”
this is a dancer filled with vibrancy and strength. Among
her most outstanding works are those of soloist and choreographer
in performances with the Rafael
Aguilar dance company during
1990 to 1995. Other works she has interpreted include Yerma,
Carmen, Rango and Suite Flamenca. With this company she has
toured the world, from Japan to the Opera house of Bregenz.
She has performed at the Zarzuela Palace with Teresa
Berganza, following this she
joined Alejandro Granados’
company in his Ballet
Picasso Flamenco. She was also a member of Juan
Andrés Maya’s company with whom she performed
in 1999 at Madrid’s Colegio Oficial de Médico’s.
In
the same year she participated in the opening ceremony of
the world athletics championships with Joaquin
Cortes’ company.
She performed in Joaquin Cortes’ “Soul”,
premiered at Barcelona’s Tivoli theatre and subsequently
in the Kursaal of San Sebastian and the Esukalduna theatre
in Bilbao. She also toured the world with the same show.
As
soloist, she participated in the presentation of the movie
“Vengo”,
starring Antonio Canales alongside
such artists as Tomatito, Antonio Canales, Montse Cortes and
Guadiana.
With Paco Romero’s company, she took part in the show
“5 por la Danza” a homage to five classics of
flamenco dance, in which she took the role of Carmen Amaya.
She toured Spain with this production.
She took part in the re-inauguration of the Ayala theatre
in Bilbao as guest artist. She also performed as soloist during
the opening gala of the Madrid en Danza Festival. She toured
Holland as soloist with the show “Gitanos
de Granada”
