Rosana Romero

Rosana Romero is one of the members of Suroma

Among her most outstanding performances:
-I muestra de Baile Flamenco de L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (1988) with Antonio “El Pipa” and Leonor Márquez.
-III Muestra de Baile Flamenco de L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (1990) with Inmaculada Aguilar, “El Toleo” and Adrian Galia.
-The inauguration of the Barcelona Olympic games with
Christina Hoyos ballet (1992).
-XI Memorial Antonio Mairena de Barcelona (1993) with La Macanita, José Menese and José de la Tomasa.
-Festival "Noveles Generaciones" del flamenco de Cornellá (1995).
-Día Internacional de la Danza (1995) en Mercat de les Flors under the directorship of Antonio Canales.
-Bienal de Sevilla (September 2000) in "Bailaor" with
Antonio Canales and Juan de Juan.
-As a member of Antonio Canales’ company (1996-2000) she took part in the following works:

-"Torero", in one of the major roles
-"A cuerda y Tacón", as soloist
-"Gitano", as soloist
-"Amor Brujo"
-"Bernarda Alba"
-"Guernica", in one of the major roles
-"Raíz", as soloist
-"Cenicienta", in one of the major roles


-In 2000 she became a member of
Paco Peña’s company in the work “Musa Gitana” with which she toured many European cities.
-In November 2002 she participated in the Nuevo Ballet Español company in the production of “Fury” in Madrid’s Teatro Real.
-In April 2002 she joined
Tito Losada’s company in the production “Las mil y una noches Flamencas” performing in many of the most important theatres of Spain. She is currently a member of the company.
-In 1999 she formed her own group Suroma with whom she has performed at the most important theatres and venues of Madrid and Barcelona.

Prizes
-Tientos y Tangos in the Ist Flamenco dance competition for “Newcomers” in Barcelona (1992).
-The “Vicente Escudero” and “Pilar Lopez” prizes in the II Flamenco dance competition for “Newcomers” in Barcelona (1994).
-The Carmen Amaya prize for most complete dancer in the 1994 Flamenco dance competition for “Newcomers”, shared with Susana Escoda and Antonio Muñiz.
