Born in Córdoba, in the neighbourhood of Costanilla (Santa Marina) in 1944.
One of 14 brothers, Talegón began singing in the taverns of Córdoba at the age of eight, joining the lineup at the flamenco tavern “Los Califas” at 10, along with Blanca del Rey, Cristobillas and Faiquillo.
He came to Madrid at the age of 12 with La Paquera de Jerez, working in the Villarrosa and Ventas along the road to Barcelona.
At the age of 18 Gitanillo de Triana and Pastora Imperio called on him to work at the Tablao El Duende, along with El Güito, Alejandro Vega, La Cañeta, Sernita, Chano Lobato, Rocío Jurado …
At the age of 24 he was called by the famous dancer Antonio. At the age of 27 he toured the world with Manuela Vargas.
He joined the Canasteros, passing through every major tablao in Madrid and inaugurated the “Arcos de Cuchilleros”.
At the age of 28 he worked with La Singla, La Chana, La Tolea …
During the years 1972- 1973 he inaugurated Lola Flores' venue El Carien, along with Felipe Campuzano and Las Grecas at the start of their career.
He returned to Canasteros after a few years and inaugurated the “El café de Chinitas” and the “Venta del Gato” (which belonged to Curro Romero and Rafael Pantoja) in 1979. Later he left for Caracas where he lived for various years.
Antonio Gades called him to work for him.
He joined the lineup of the “Cumbre Flamenca” for 8 years, alongside Manolete, Antonio Canales, Manuela Carrasco …….
He continued working for many years at the best Madrid tablaos, such as Café de Chinitas, Torres Bermejas, Corral de la Morería, Corral de la Pacheca and Casa Patas.
He travelled to Indonesia with the Casa Patas Foundation, where he performed for the Spanish Embassy alongside La Truco.
Currently he teaches cante at the Amor de Dios Academy and the Casa Patas Flamenco Conservatory Foundation, alternating with solo appearances in Córdoba, Parla and Madrid as well as the rest of Spain
