Carlos Torijano is pianist, educator and author of the book collection Iniciación al piano flamenco (Introduction to flamenco piano), volume I (2004) and II (2006).
He combines his pedagogical side with the composer and performer one as he is the leader of Carlos Torijano Group.
He focuses his work in Flamenco and Latin-jazz and has studied with acclaimed Salsa artists, as Jumitus is and also flamenco figures like Joaquín Herrera, with whom Carlos Torijano collaborates frequently.
Currently he gives Flamenco Piano lessons at Taller de Músics of Barcelona and runs the Instituto para la Difusión de la Música Flamenca (Institute for Flamenco Music Spreading), where he gives Master lessons and seminars about flamenco piano.
Besides, Carlos Torijano is Postgraduate professor of Musical Creativity and Education in the Barcelona University. Also he collaborates as a columnist for the web page EsFlamenco.com and the electronic magazine Sul Ponticello.
